Best known as the father of what is referred to as Ericksonian hypnosis, Milton Erickson is an inspiration to many. Erickson often relied on stories without direct link to a person’s condition and on other powerful conversational techniques to masterfully induce a trance state in that person. This allowed the person to derive their own conclusions by listening to their own inner voice, which in turn had them produce the changes they most needed without any prescriptive intervention on Erickson’s part. NLP was largely based on the study of this exceptional man’s work. |
